A Dolphin Fathoms Deep

This old world will never change the way it’s been
And all our ways of war won’t change it back again
I’ve been out searchin’ for the dolphins in the sea
Ah, but sometimes I wonder, do you ever think of me?

~Fred Neil

Sometimes I look at the floor, the solid ground holding me up, and I want to just dive into it.
Let it swallow me like a dark sea...
let me swim in its depths.
Fathom an exit from servitude to a life that doesn't serve me.
Does that seem dark?
Frost had his woods...
Lovely & deep
I have tile & hardwood
There's an ocean waiting for me
Deeper than these ponds
I dodge predators and wanderers as I swim with more purpose
I'm a dolphin trapped in a cesspool
Gathering my pod, school,
to follow each other
to a vast paradisical
Mar Nostrum
