With The Strength of Ten Swords

It takes power to tame a lion
Brute, inhuman
Who would tame a beautiful
Creature of nature?

Strength to love.
Strength to trust.

When we mistake hardness for strength
We walk like frozen slabs.
But to be soft in a hard world…
To love when you’ve everything to lose.

Trust the ground to be there on
My next step
Hume induces doubt
I’m all humaned out

I read that things we can’t control
Are opportunities to let go…
We hold too tightly to invisible
Strings that slip between our
Fingerprints. Right through the ridges and whirls.

Take all ten swords and make
A pincushion.
We’ve a new reality
Of warping woofing weaving
Looming before and behind
Over, under, around, above.

Strength to love.
Strength to trust.
